And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mac is constantly growing, so I am stuck with buying for him.

If he gets a little bigger he can start wearing Emmett hand me downs.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow. Switched out half the white flour for whole wheat and those were some tall pancakes.

The costumes are out here at work, and someone is dressed as a sumo wrestler! (It's a plastic all-body costume, complete with sagging man-boobs and the loin cloth.)

We also have a beaver, a deviled egg, a zebra and her little toddler girl who's a skunk, and a few witches.

(The next department over is made up of mostly 20something contractors who like to party together, so getting kitted out in full costumes isn't a stretch for them.)

There are a couple of people who would dress up on Halloween but they were both laid off yesterday.

My costume is still in my drawer - haven't seen anyone else dressed up here yet. We are supposed to have a "costumed pot-luck" today - so who knows.

CJ is all jazzed about being the one to answer the door and hand out candy - though I'd be shocked if we got more than one Trick or Treater. Mom bought two bags of candy. Craxyness.

That is more trick than treat.

Are you going as a crazed A's fan with a green wig?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

There are a couple of people who would dress up on Halloween but they were both laid off yesterday.

Let that be a lesson to us all.

Wow, even Nature magazine is supporting Obama.

This journal does not have a vote, and does not claim any particular standing from which to instruct those who do. But if it did, it would cast its vote for Barack Obama.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I have yet to see anyone (human or pet) in a Halloween costume. Dunno what's up - I usually at least see some on the train.

For anyone who's looking for last night's Rachel Maddow interviw with Obama, Crooks and Liars has it.

I highly recommend watching it--it's probably the most informative interview I've yet seen with him.
