Watching the game tonight I got all misty eye'ed that I had missed so much baseball this season.
I may go to a few Rockies games and cheer for them, but the A's will always have my heart, despite the crap ownership does to my dear team.
Somebody said today that when the Phillies win the world series or playoffs, the Republicans win the White House.
I hope I heard that wrong.
It's true that the only other presidential election year the Phils were even in the series was 1980. But when you get there that rarely, it's hard to make much of a trend of it.
My only baseball/election superstition is that the Red Sox breaking the Bambino's Curse during that eclipse resulted in it rebounding on the rest of the country.

Sarah shows her loyalty and proves McCain's stupidity once again. Let's see how the campaign shovels that one.
The first plane trip I can remember going on was to Disney World when I was almost 6. And actually most of what I remember is the food -- I got a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and a lollipop shaped like Mickey Mouse. And the stewardess took us up to the cockpit to meet the pilot and see the controls, which I thought was really neat.
