It's true that the only other presidential election year the Phils were even in the series was 1980. But when you get there that rarely, it's hard to make much of a trend of it.

My only baseball/election superstition is that the Red Sox breaking the Bambino's Curse during that eclipse resulted in it rebounding on the rest of the country.

The first plane trip I can remember going on was to Disney World when I was almost 6. And actually most of what I remember is the food -- I got a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and a lollipop shaped like Mickey Mouse. And the stewardess took us up to the cockpit to meet the pilot and see the controls, which I thought was really neat.

Hell yeah, there won't be a strike in the Israeli higher education system! The academic year will start as usual! I'll be able, at last, after waiting for an extra year to get some higher education! Yaaaaaayyyyyyy!
