Can't drink, smoke, diddle my willy. Doesn't leave much to do other than watch you blokes stumble around playing Agatha Christie.

“Not dead yet!”

The thing is, to be completely fair *trying not to choke on the words because this argument means giving Meyer's interpretation weight* the concept that the little ruggers are completely missing (and what I suspect has GG wanting to bash her head against the stage) is that there is no One True Vampire. That the mythos of the vampire is dense and layered and open to a world of interpretation and above all, should not solely be based on one example of a 108 year-old vampire who was turned as a 17 year-old virgin who's got some serious obsessive/compulsive/stalker issues coupled with a deep, deep sense of self-loathing and who fucking sparkles.

Not that I have deep feelings on the matter or anything.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

right now I am watching 'Batman vs. Dracula'. Everyone seems to become a vampire instantly. Almost as annoying as sparkling. but batman fighting dracula -- funny

Not to be all Gothier Than Them, but those kiddoes aren't babybats. If they're not interested in anything beyond Twilight, they're just interested in the dreaminess du jour.

This! Very much this.

SPARKLES. SPAAAAARKLY VAMPIRES. AAAAUUUUUUGH.

Tho' I am going to see the movie. For comedy value, and I'm taking a flask with me. And possibly a copy of Dracula.

And possibly a copy of Dracula.

Speaking of which, Jilli, did you see that the new annotated Dracula released this past week?

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I may pick up my Buffy fic writing again just so I can have Spike snarl at some baby-Slayer who keeps trying to see if he glitters.

PLEASE!!!

Very true. Please do not revoke my Goth membership on the basis of my slip.

This is me. Friends and some students want to see it at the same time I see it to witness my reactions and see if I manage not to explode. Giggling all the way through is my anticipated response.

the new annotated Dracula

On my christmas list!

I think the only way I could sit through the movie is clutching a copy of the interview where Robert Pattinson talked about how he approached playing Edward:

"When you read the book, it's like, 'Edward Cullen was so beautiful I creamed myself.' I mean, every line is like that. He's the most ridiculous person who's so amazing at everything... And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that's how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he's a 108-year-old virgin so he's obviously got some issues there."

If he wasn't such a total baby, I'd have to lick him like a lollipop, just for saying that.

That made me want to see it. On video, at least.

“Not dead yet!”

I’ve spent a long time thinking, “How can I take the whole beautiful thing as an interpretation?” And I realized that it’s just Bella saying he’s so beautiful and she’s just in love with him and obsessed with him so he could be like a piece of cheese and she would think the same thing.

Another priceless line. I think I really like this guy.
