If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Pretty good, I guess. She's seeming stronger, but still not walking or especially getting up on her own. She doesn't seem to be in any real pain or distress. There's some whimpering and whining going on, but I think that's more frustration than discomfort. Words cannot express how much I do not want to leave her and go back to Chicago tomorrow.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Words cannot express how much I do not want to leave her and go back to Chicago tomorrow.

Oh man, I cannot even imagine.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Timelies,

Happy Birthday, Brenda.

So I popped by a good friend of mine's blog who I haven't talked to in awhile to see how she was doing and her most-recent entry is this huge rant about how Palin is being treated unfairly by everyone and how Obama is going to ruin the country far worse than Bush has and turn the US into a more-or-less communist state. Which is disappointing enough on it's own, but more so considering that up until this year she's been a lifelong Democrat.

Part of me wants to respond, but I really don't know where to begin and the last time we did communicate at any length we ended up having a huge arguement about Obama vs. Hillary Clinton. So I have a feeling if I try to refute any of her points at all, it's just going explode into another fight, no matter how I phrase things. Blergh.

It'd be different if she were a conservative voting her party loyalties no matter what like some of my friends and family are, but it's just depressing to see her feeling so bitter and betrayed. (Especially when I think her reasoning is false.)

ION, I was never a fan of the original commercials, but the update is good: [link] (apologies if this was linked previously)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy birthday, brenda! I hope Lu gets better quick.

You know, Kal, it's weird how everybody thinks Obama is left of Lenin, when he's actually pretty centrist. He's probably closer to the middle than Hillary.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I never liked the Wazzup Bud commercials but man, I do love the update. Very creative, funny and even poignant.

Happy Birthday, Brenda! I wish a speedy recovery for Miss Lucy.

We've got a Halloween Party tonight for the kids. I have five hours to convince DH to dress up as Commissioner Gordon for our family costumes. He's lukewarm on the idea.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

happy birthday Brenda!

F2F I have convinced a few people that Obama is not a liberal -- and in the process I convinced them that all liberals ( 'cause I am one) are not dangerous. Don't think I could do it online.

“Not dead yet!”

They just opened early voting in my district—I went, I participated in the ritual of democracy, even took the kids, so they could see how the process worked, and have my sticker. There and back in a half hour. WOOT!
