I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Kate!

I'm sorry about the work stuff, Allyson. When you're an 85 year old, world famous, multi-prize winning author, your memoirs are going to make the children of your current bosses sob like newly orphaned 4 year olds with skinned knees.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Check this out: Michele Bachmann, the one who said the media should investigate Congress to find which member are anti-American, has just lost all RNCC funding. Before her comments, she was looking at a comfortable victory. Now they've given up on her. [link]

ETA: it gets more interesting. Apparently the Family Research Council, a social conservative organisation, is advising its members to withhold donations from the RNCC unless they reverse their decision and support Bachmann. [link]

not your mom's socks.

Megan - thank you so much for posting about your trip. It had me looking at the National Park Service websites and reminiscing about our trip out west so very long ago. Want to go again. Want. Pie.

Allyson - given all that you've talked about doing over the past year or so for your boss, that seems so completely bass-ackwards, I am agog. If I may be so bold, I dub your boss WTF!Boss. Any proofreading services you may still need, please hit my profile addy.

Happy Bdays for everyone as needs them.

ION - I think my brain just turned on.

Happy Birthday, Kate!

(I had a formative experience with a family who had a half-bath that was much more strongly decorated than the rest of their house, so I always think that's where crazy things should go.)

My father bought a house where the half-bath had a black toilet, black sink, and black wallpaper with flocked panther heads with yellow eyes. It was so creepy to pee in there.

AND, he left it that way for about 10 years. He recently redecorated, so now it is light blue paint and a black toilet and sink.

“Not dead yet!”

Happy Birthday, Kate!

And tell me, y'all, how on earth is it possible that my baby turns eleven today?

Seriously. It's not possible

I'd been wondering why there were no new Dork Towers since Oct. 10. I have my answer, and it's adorable (not as adorable as Pete, but still...): [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My father bought a house where the half-bath had a black toilet, black sink, and black wallpaper with flocked panther heads with yellow eyes. It was so creepy to pee in there.

AWESOME.

Happy birthday, Kate!

Allyson, did I say WTF? Because WTF. You needed to get out of there months ago, and it's still true.

Why do I have a headache and no drugs? Why.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Happy birthday to the coolest Kate I know!

Just got caught up, and everything not related to Kate's natal day I might have had to say is lost in sputtering rage for Allyson. You've had a horrible feeling about these jackholes and this job for months, and it's long past time for you to be out of there and on your way to someplace better. Which, at this point, sounds like anyplace that's not this.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Allyson, I am full of rage towards your employer--especially since you spent so much time and effort on that symposium. I hope you can find another job quickly and tell them to fuck off.

Happy Birthday, Kate P!

Barb, it's umpossible!
