Brenda's French Soul Food
Man, I'd've thought you'd be first in line! I stopped in there last week on my way back to work from the DMV, and I can attest as to tastiness.
Now I want biscuits. OMNOMNOMNOM.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I dislike the name of this restaurant. Soul Food is distinct from cajun food is distinct from creole food is distinct from French food.
I can't remember, is the Examiner the conservative paper in town? We have an Examiner here and it is run by a total nutjob.
I saw that on MUNI this morning and did a double-take until I realized it was The Examiner.
The Examiner has always endorsed the Republican candidate, except one time for Bill Clinton, I think.
I dislike the name of this restaurant.

Ahhhh, okay then.
brenda, did you see my invite to take the train up to Wheeling tomorrow for dinner? If you can get here by 7:00, I'll pick you up and drive you home afterwards!
(IOW, I wanna see you, too!!)
Good god -- I hope this was an abbreviated quote by the reporter, because if that's what she said... it's just terrifying in the gap of nuanced history and understanding it reveals:
Palin was asked if she thought the U.S. presence in Iraq and Afghanistan was helping to mitigate terrorism.
"I think our presence in Iraq and Afghanistan will lead to further security for our nation. We can never again let them onto our soil," she said.
It's about halfway down the story here.

Ooh, let me see if I can manage it - I've got a late meeting but I might be able to hit a train.
Every clip or quote I see just gets worse. This can't actually be happening, right?
Special Mets Tidbit for Tom and Amy. Warning: Do Not Read Without Alcohol In Hand
The Mets held a 5-1 lead over the Cubs on Wednesday night, but lost in extra innings, 9-6. It’s the sixth time this season that the Mets lost a home game in which they led by at least four runs. That ties the most such losses for any National League team since 1900; the 1924 Phillies and 1976 Cubs also had six home defeats of that type. The last N.L. team to lose more than six home games in which it led by four-or-more runs was Chicago in 1894.
