Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Pew Research Center: Obama's Lead Widens: 52%-38%

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I read that yesterday, and, while its really fucking hysterical, it ALSO captures it perfectly. Given how different Obama and McCain are, I cannot fathom how someone can be undecided at this point.

I finally did get this -- I can understand it from people who have severe problems with both of them, but are not yet checked out of politics entirely.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I can understand it from people who have severe problems with both of them, but are not yet checked out of politics entirely.

I think most undecideds are people who are unhappy with the Republicans and don't really like McCain, but are afraid of Obama. So that's why Obama's campaign has been purposefully designed to show Obama as calm, approachable, cool under pressure, and reassuring.

And I think most of the undecideds have tipped towards Obama because of the success of that campaign.

Although some have argued it's more to do with the utterly reprehensible campaign McCain and Palin have run.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

As long as they tip (and vote), the purity of their motives doesn't interest me much.

Cute photos of animal trainers in a pool with tigers: [link]

eta²:

Despite the apparent danger, the trainers are never at risk. They've found that in the water people and tigers are on a more equal footing

Good to know.

A tiger... in Africa?!?

No, in the pool.

Oh lord. Devi ripped off one of her claws. Just a little pink stump. No idea when she did this, probably in the last week. I'll keep an eye on it.

Sigh.

I need a frequent shopper card for the vets.

How much does it cost to go to Vet School?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Oh no! poor Devi!

Interestingly, I did a little survey of the people I work with to see what they think I should do with my life, and 3 of them said I should be a vet! But I don't think I could take the animal death/suffering. The others thought I should so into marketing!?!
