Did his opponent raise a fuss? I'm surprised stuff like this almost never gets to be hugely controversial.
There were a bunch of editorials and stuff along the lines of this one:

But it never really got into the media much. It was a close election, but there wasn't a lot of controversy afterwards. Nonetheless, having people involved in a campaign being in charge of the election is bad enough, but having an actual candidate in charge? At that point the system is just broken.
No word on whether the kid yelled "Yee-hah!" as he jumped the ditches. Or if there's a Confederate flag painted on the awning
It's the Dukes of Sand Hazards.
Thank you-- I have now been earwormed with "Just some good ol' boys..."
GAH!
No word on whether the kid yelled "Yee-hah!" as he jumped the ditches. Or if there's a Confederate flag painted on the awning
Pro'lly good that they got away, as they were probably armed with exploding arrows... I mean, no outhouse would be safe.
Actually at the demolition? I meant to go, but ended up not.

Palin also claimed religion and God had been "mocked" during the campaign, although she offered no evidence to support that.

This made me snort Diet Coke up my nose:
Sen. Barack Obama on Monday denounced the "say-anything, do-anything politics" by Sen. John McCain's camp, but said "careless, outrageous comments" won't distract him from addressing the nation's ills.
...
"It's getting so bad that even Sen. McCain's running mate denounced his tactics last night," Obama said at a campaign event in Tampa, Florida. "As you know, you really have to work hard to violate Gov. Palin's standards on negative campaigning."

Let's see....
Palin also claimed Satan had been "embraced" during the campaign, although she offered no evidence to support that.
Hmmm... Palin/McCain's next attack on Obama?
Palin also claimed sheep had been "fucked" during the campaign, although she offered no evidence to support that.
Next week's attack?
"Faith in God in general has been mocked through this campaign, and that breaks my heart and that is unfair for others who share a faith in God and choose to worship our Lord in whatever private manner that they deem fit," she said.
And another strawman hits the dust. I wish she had been pressed for examples.
