The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thanks, Gud. I'll point her towards that and reminding her that checking one's sources is always a good idea. Her hubby leans very right-wing, so I have a feeling that her view of "reliable" news sources has been somewhat compromised.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Billytea, if you don't name the kid Joey you'll be missing a grand chance! :-)

I'm pretty sure we should call this baby The Joey regardless of what name his/her parents go and pick.

I'm sure that there are left wingnuts who have found something that McCain has said that same sort of fear mongering way. That could be a good counter example, but I don't have time to search for left wingnut sources to find any.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

If any Chicagoistas are looking for something to do the evening of November 4th, Obama will likely be having his Election Night celebration (I refuse to say "concession speech" because it ain't gonna happen) in Grant Park.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Congrats, billytea! I knew right away where that post was leading and it took a tremendous amount of will to avoid just jumping to the end of the post.

Hm. I feel like a shitheel, because as soon as I read the first line, I figured what it must portend, so I jumped to the last line right away.

(What? I wanted to know RIGHT AWAY!)

Steph, if it makes you feel any better, I did the same thing.

(home sick from work today, so I get to check in here during daylight hours. Woo!)

Art Crawl!!!

(Teppy's post makes me wonder if she reads the last page in a mystery first.)

ION, in the NYT's editorial about ACORN I read this:

According to a study by Project Vote, a voting-rights group, in 2006, 71 percent of eligible whites were registered, compared with 61 percent of blacks, 54 percent of Latinos and 49 percent of Asian-Americans.

49 percent??!! Is that why we are the "model minority"? Because we don't make waves?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I was only 99% sure before I skipped to the end, because while bt would totally tell us about tapeworm egg-laying rates anyway, he's generally good about not putting it in Beep Me without a reason.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The only reason I didn't skip to the end is because I read Natter first and was already spoiled.
