information libertarian

You all are making me want cheese and apples, both of which I have, but at home, and I am working until 6 tonight!

I have nice sharp Vermont cheddar and picked-Saturday-by-me Winesaps and Cortlands.

Casper calls cheap cheddar "orange cheese" too, and doesn't like to good stuff, happily for me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The bagna cauda was described by Mario Batali upthread (here, right?) courtesy of Hec.

Y'all have seen the Grilled Cheese Invitational, no?

CATEGORIES OF COMPETITION
[link]

There will be four categories of sammiches in this competition. Each is outlined as follows:

The Missionary Position: Standard white bread (no sourdough), orange cheese (Cheddar or American), and standard butter (or margarine).

Spoons: Any kind of bread, any kind of cheese (or cheeses), and any kind of butter.

The Kama Sutra: Any kind of bread, any kind of butter, and any kind of cheese PLUS additional ingredients(the interior ingredients must be at least 60% cheese).

The Honey Pot: Any kind of bread, any kind of butter, and any kind of cheese (the interior ingredients of the sammich must be at least 60% cheese), and with an overall flavor that is sweet and would best be served as dessert.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I'd share mine with you, flea, but, I eated them.

Honeycrisp are the best. Then Galas and Granny Smiths. I used to like MacIntosh when I was a kid, but these days I find they go mushy too quickly.

Like corn, I find most apples disappointing now, if I don't know where/when they were picked. It's a shame.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I made this [link] over the weekend to get rid of some substandard Granny Smiths. Much improved.

I wanted to go to that, lori, but didn't realize it until after the event was over.

I HAVE SO MUCH WORK TO DO. How will I go on?!?!

“Not dead yet!”

Mostly, I just think that different times call for different cheeses. I would Not Be Pleased if I went to a wine bar and ended up with Kraft singles, but I'm also not going to make a grilled cheese sandwich with manchego.

I now want grilled Halloumi with chili sauce.

The plastic cheese grilled cheese sandwich is a distinct (and delicious) category from all other grilled cheese sandwiches.

And should preferably be served with Campbell's tomato soup.

I like Red Delicious apples. Also Galas and Fuji.
