I just got the editing overview letter from Editor Emily, and the line-edited version of the manuscript lands on my doorstep tomorrow. She thinks I did a good job, but wants me to expand some topics and watch out for repetition. Why am I freaking out about this? Why?

Market stuff is so crazy. So of course, we chose now to set up our investment accounts. Not like we're putting very much in there, but we just need to be done procrastinating about saving for retirement. Figured we might as well go ahead and do it now while everything's low, since we're going to do it soon anyway.

So the market can rally now that I've voiced my consumer confidence.

Man, I got in a HUGE fight with co-author last night. I turned in a crappy chapter. One crappy one out of seven. He's written three. I held his hand through the first, had a fit when he handed me crap on the second, and he finally hit a good stride on his last.

So, if we spent the same amount of time writing, and I wrote 70% of the material, and gave up two months of seeing my friends and being a jackass to everyone around me, I get to be a horrible BITCH, right? Like, I get to be a total bitch for 70% of the time, yeah?

Anyone ever write with a partner? How does that work?

I have posited that the G.O.P. has persuaded oil companies to start lowering prices before the election so the Republicans can point at them and go "Look! See?! It's working! We lowered gas prices! Vote Us!"

Nah, the economic news has got oil speculators thinking demand will drop steeply. I have confidence that OPEC at some point will cut production to stop the free fall.
