Punishingly Intricate

I like the McCann's Quick & Easy Steel-Cut Irish Oatmeal or even the non-steel cut quick cooking Irish Oatmeal. I don't want any flavors I haven't added myself in my hot cereal.

Some more detail on Opus ending...

According to the press release, Berkeley has vowed that this end is for good. “With the crisis in Wall Street and Washington, I’m suspending my comic strip to assist the nation. The best way I can help is to leave politics permanently and write funny stories for America’s kids. I call on John McCain to join me.”

And then in an email he told a reporter

30 years of cartooning to end. I’m destroying the village to save it. Opus would inevitably become a ranting mouthpiece in the coming wicked days, and I respect the other parts of him too much to see that happen. The Michael Moore part of me would kill the part of him that was important to his fans.

Apparently there'll be a contest to guess where Opus winds up in the final strip. Hm.

Our wings are not tired.

I nuke McCann sugar free flavored packets with milk.

I totally read this as "I nuke McCain...."

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Hah! I did too.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Y'all made me get oatmeal at Starbucks.

Which comes with cranberries, raisins and almonds in little packets.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Never had oatmeal at Starbucks. Is it steel cut?

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I urge everyone to try salting their oatmeal instead of putting sugar on it. I tended to find sweetened oatmeal somewhat cloying. Then a Scottish friend suggested that I try it "the proper way" i.e. with salt and I was an instant convert.

I use steel-cut oats, and cook them with a spoonful of currants. I stir in a spoonful of chopped dried cherries at the end. I serve it with sprinkle of salt and milk or yogurt (or both). It's really good!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I totally read this as "I nuke McCain...."

Hah! I did too.

The reason there's an edit is I wrote McCain at first!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

A tabloid is apparently reporting that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant again. Oh, my god, y'all.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I like the Bob's Red Mill 5-grain hot cereal. It's oatmeal, wheat berries, barley, and two other things that I can't remember right now. It's got a much more interesting texture and flavor than just plain oatmeal. I make it with unsweetened soy milk instead of water, and put honey on top.
