"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Y'all made me get oatmeal at Starbucks.

Which comes with cranberries, raisins and almonds in little packets.

Never had oatmeal at Starbucks. Is it steel cut?

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I urge everyone to try salting their oatmeal instead of putting sugar on it. I tended to find sweetened oatmeal somewhat cloying. Then a Scottish friend suggested that I try it "the proper way" i.e. with salt and I was an instant convert.

I use steel-cut oats, and cook them with a spoonful of currants. I stir in a spoonful of chopped dried cherries at the end. I serve it with sprinkle of salt and milk or yogurt (or both). It's really good!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I totally read this as "I nuke McCain...."

Hah! I did too.

The reason there's an edit is I wrote McCain at first!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

A tabloid is apparently reporting that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant again. Oh, my god, y'all.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I like the Bob's Red Mill 5-grain hot cereal. It's oatmeal, wheat berries, barley, and two other things that I can't remember right now. It's got a much more interesting texture and flavor than just plain oatmeal. I make it with unsweetened soy milk instead of water, and put honey on top.

I think so. It was satisfactory. Filled with adequatulence.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's cheesy gossip via the National Enquirer, so it's obviously totally credible.

She's practically a Palin !

(Notice how they can't seem to plan a pregnancy? What is UP with that?)
