"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

This is her first office job, so I think it's just not knowing to take the next step.

Understood. Still, age factor wins here. She has my Fellow-Young-Persons-Starting-Life sympathy. And so do you.

I almost wish she would panic more. Maybe I do need to instill fear!

That's the ticket, just tell her "Get the information, I don't care how you do it!". Another tip, you never have to get bad news if everyone is afraid to tell you bad news. I should write a management book.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You can call it "Leading Like W."

People are making me look dumb. 5 minutes after sending out an email stating something will not be done, I get one saying it IS BEING done.

Well, gee, thanks for telling me!!!!

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Dear Gud - at least they don't have an old washer on the porch and several junkers up on cinder blocks ... yet.

They do have concrete yard art. I kind of like concrete yard art, but they are living the cliche.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

electoral-vote.com has Obama up 20 points since yesterday - I don't see how the debate tonight will change anything, unless the McCain camp thinks it has nothing to lose and takes some big risks. I have no idea how they could do that. We're only 4 weeks away, right?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

We're only 4 weeks away, right?

Yes. But they're dog-weeks....

You've got to respect that dedication.

Just in case there's anyone who wants to be more angry: The camp that 'cures' homosexuality

“Am I in denial?” he asks. “Absolutely. I live a life of denial and I love it. I didn't choose my same-sex feelings but I do choose how I'm going to steward them. Freedom is possible.” At Exodus people are not gay; they “struggle with same-sex attraction” (SSA).

I wonder if that would work as a gay pickup line. "I'm so struggling with SSA right now...."

“The opposite of homosexuality is not heterosexuality,” says Chambers, sagely. “It's holiness.” Speech over, he asks people to come forward to be prayed for. A boy of no more than 16 steps up, hanging his head. When he returns from the stage to the sound of applause, his stony-faced father nods in approval. His mother weeps.

...

Yet it has been claimed by critics, many of whom have undergone treatment themselves, that some same-sex attraction therapy can exacerbate anxiety and depression, in extreme cases leading to suicidal feelings.

Huh. There's no way anyone could have anticipated that....

I can't cut and paste from my mail client to excel and it is making me all ragey and insane.

Perhaps I'm a bit irritable today.
