Frank talk of Obama and race in Virginia
A local newspaper columnist, in a spoof of Obama’s platform, wrote in one recent piece that the Democrat would hire the rapper Ludacris to paint the White House black (a reference to a pro-Obama song by Ludacris), and divert more foreign aid to Africa so "the Obama family there can skim enough to allow them to free their goats and live the American Dream." He joked that Obama would replace the 50 stars on the U.S. flag "with a star and crescent logo," an Islamic symbol, and that his policy on drugs would be to "raise taxes to pay for Obama's inner-city political base."
The columnist, Bobby May, is also treasurer of the Buchanan County Republican Party and was listed in a July news release as the county's representative on McCain's Virginia leadership team, though he said his column reflected his views alone, and he denied it was racist.

Timelies all!
Going back a bit, Nilly, you have done nothing to offend me this year.(Or at all, come to think of it) I hope that if I have offended anyone here, that they can forgive me.
paint the White House black
Isn't that actually a George Clinton song?
Nilly, as per usual, you have never offended me.
Look! A literal quick brown fox jumping over a lazy dog!

Just wanted to say: lots of love for Nilly here.
Me too!
Nilly, you have never offended me, either.
ION: I think Gud's neighbor migrated from my county.
Nilly, once again you have failed to offend me for an entire year. I love your posts each year and it is a great reminder for us all.
So, I got home from work, and threw together what should be a delicous chicken puttanesca situation -- but now I'm having crackers and cheese for dinner, because the chicken wasn't cooking fast enough, and I'm hungry. It'll be good tomorrow!
Why are the guys all associated with the financial meltdown so unbelievably and unrelentingly ugly? I'm looking at you (reluctantly) Mr. Richard S. Fuld, Jr.!
Nilly has never offended me.
I just had what started out to be a nice polital talk with a republican friend, but it rather disintegrated on the topic of Gay Marriage when he said "I was always taught to be tolerant, but marriage would mean I have to accept that it is right." I don't see how other people getting married means accepting that it is right, but I suspect I sold marriage in less esteem. But if bad marriages don't devalue marriage, why do gay marriages. But I think we will never get each other. I suspect his mindset, which is being tolerant, and perhaps even liking gay people will never change, and I feel like-- if your so tolerant and friendly to gay people why can't you see that they would like to be married!
ETA- He's not even all "Some of my best friends are gay!" because some of his best friends actually are gay!! I think that I take how I feel personally and apply it to the political, where he takes what he feels politically and applies it to the personl.
