Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I look very much like my dad -- actually, I look a whole lot like his grandmother. My sister looks exactly like my mom's sister. Our coloring is completely different -- I'm dark enough that I frequently get "What are you, anyway?" questions from people who then won't believe that I'm white, and she's got honey-blonde hair, green eyes, pale skin, and freckles in the summer -- but put us next to each other, and we're clearly siblings. (Well, some people think so. There was one time that I was signing her in as a guest in my dorm in college, and the person at the desk looked at our IDs, noticed the same last name, and asked, "You're sisters?" We said yes. She said, "Full sisters?")

Barb, I scored big time!!!

The bag is a "no longer available" item at all stores, but luckily enough, the store just north of mine still had one in stock that they hadn't sold or returned yet! (It's the only one in Chicagoland that still had it, I think.) It's on hold for me for a few days, so I'll head over tomorrow and pick it up for you. Send me your mail info at my profile addy, and I'll get it out for you ASAP.

Mac's uncle is a very good egg, he is feeling fluish but is still letting mac spend some of the day and watch Star Wars 3. Oh and did I mention he is just home after an 8 hour drive yesterday.

I think you were meant to have it, because that was pure luck, both finding it and finding it so close to me!

I still haven't worked out a good answer to the, "What are you, anyway?" question. I generally answer "human," but that tends to just get an eyeroll. There was a girl in my middle/high school who, despite knowing my last name, which is obviously German, asked me several times whether I was Puerto Rican. Then there was one time in college when I was walking by a bunch of black guys, and one of them turned and shouted, "Hey!" at me. I turned to him, and he said, "You black?" I said no. He said, "You mixed?" I said no. He nodded, said, "OK," and went back to talking to his friends.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I mean, obviously they are related. It's just that Emmett looks exactly like a mix between his mother and me. But Matilda doesn't really look a lot like JZ or me. But when you put them side by side, they definitely look like siblings.

I think they both have your facial structure. It's the cheeks.

Kristin, thanks for posting the SNL link. I couldn't find it anywhere last night.

Art Crawl!!!

WTF

Palin was introduced by Shelly Mandell, the president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women. Mandell supported Sen. Hillary Clinton during the Democratic primary, but has now endorsed the McCain-Palin ticket.
