not your mom's socks.

Yeah, I kind of lost it with the judgy-mcJudgerson last night. But I was dealing with a couple fronts: anger at pandering, folksy sound bites (both sides, but much, much more with Joe Sixpack and all that) and the ongoing use of people (children too) as props. I'm glad that the only female candidate in the race didn't completely collapse onstage. But do I feel that she represented female candidates well? I do not.

Also, my folks are sending me links to articles and releases that blame the Clintons for the current financial situation and I read them instead of blocking them. So. HI - call me Jud for short.

off I go to the dr.

“Not dead yet!”

I don't want folksy; I want someone fucking smarter than me.

Erin is me.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

And post-hot shower, let me just say, "smarter than me" doesn't mean "So I will trust him or her blindly to tell me what to do."

But so that I feel I can maybe just trust them. A little.

“Not dead yet!”

I consider it to be, "I know I don't have the knowledge or desire to take on this job, but by damn, the person that does, should have the knowledge and desire and not just a bunch of carefully culled sound bites."

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I don't want folksy, I want presidential and competent. I don't think she's a moron, I think she is ambitious beyond her qualifications and expertise. I think she is fake and manipulative. But mostly I just disagree with most of her world view.

That is a nice summation of my feelings. And how much do I hate the fact that these words came out of my mouth: Dad, please do NOT vote for a ticket with THAT woman on it.

His reply: Hell, Erin, I haven't voted FOR someone in 30 years. I just vote AGAINST the person I think will do the absolute worst job.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It's far better for my stress level if I just read about the debate here, I think. I wimped out last night and watched Supernatural and then collapsified into bed.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I did NOT watch the debate (I've been in enough pain the last week and a half to put up with listening to Fauxksy Flick). However, I must say the Buffista debate watch and post is the bestest debate coverage evah!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, I don't want someone I can relate to as president. I would be a horrible president! Why would I want someone who seems like me?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Okay, this sourcing of Palin's closing remarks is both awesome and appalling.
