I had a meeting with someone this afternoon who is involved with voting rights stuff, and she was saying that she's helping out with a group coming over from China to check out election stuff. She said the original organizing group was going to bring them to Boston. She was like, WTF. Why would you go there? They were like, Um, it's close to New York? So she's bringing them to Ohio, where there will actually be election stuff going on!

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Election observers. In the USA. The times are indeed out of joint.
Well, these people want to learn about doing elections.
At the 7-11 a few blocks away, they've got this "vote with your cup" thing for the Slurpees, where they have McCain, Obama, and Undecided cups, and buying a Slurpee in of the cups registers in the in-store poll. There was a huge stack of McCain cups left, and only two Obama cups.
I guess learning how NOT to do things is a good start.
Yeha, I would love to hear from someone with A cup boobies that are not seemingly 3D squishable how that goes...I might think by the time I'm mammogramable that they'd be more saggy and squishable, except I have to get mine at 35, because of the family history. So I'm really HOPING they're not saggy and more able to be put on a plate by then!
...and suddenly I realize we're having this convo in Natter. Um. Hi Natter!
In I-can't-help-it political news: Every time I see the slogan "Change we need" I can't help but read it in Yoda voice.
In not political news: I love Dirty Sexy Money. Scandal! Intrigue! Random plot point yachts! I never have any idea what's going on and I love it.
So I was bad and reading DMN's editorial blog again, and one of the board members posted a thing about Palin's Supreme Court decision question.
One of the commenters: Furthermore, we're not electing a Constitutional lawyer for president and veep.
My reply: I plan on voting for the former civil rights lawyer and constitutional law professor for president, myself.
I think the original board member COMMed me.
In other news about my job, I was walking down the street with Big Boss, and she asked me a question I should have been able to answer, but couldn't (the information is on paper at the office, not in my head!). I said, "Oh man, I feel like Sarah Palin!" Big Boss reassured me I am not like that. Phew.
I've no history of bc, so I'm waiting till I'm 39.
More than 80 percent of breast cancer patients have no family history of breast cancer, and that includes me. Yes, I'm the first breast cancer patient in my family. I'm so proud.
