Sara, I did suggest calling Loki Kitten, but not KIT-TEN, which I think may be Alibelle's cat's name. (I don't just know the names of every pet in bandom, but also the Buffistas, apparently)
True! That's awesome, Sophia. I'm impressed. Kit Ten is my super awesome cat that my mom would not let me keep with me after college, because my mom got too attached to her. I miss her. She rocks.
Thanks, Shir! Thanks, Burrell!
I had a fun birthday. It was jam-packed with good times. I'm holding off on having a party until the fitness infomercial is done in a week or two, but today was pretty awesome (and exhausting! My fun was scheduled down to the minute). I managed a sleepover, a viewing of "Pride and Prejudice," meeting a friend for cake and coffee, a facial, an across town showing of "Igor," a shopping trip for a dress, a quick dress-up party at my house with a friend, a taping of DwtS, dance class, and dinner with a friend. Then I came home and caught up on three days worth of emails, and figured I might as well catch up on natter too, since I'm being so efficient. Now it's time for a nap.
Happy Birthday "Alibelle"
Good luck, ita.
I'm scanning old family photos in order to preserve them, from the late 1930s to the late 1960s.
I'm gonna upload them to my Flickr, and actually make something with with (I started it when I wanted a place to share my pictures from my U.S. travel with friends, and then just uploaded random pictures to there, but I wanted to make my account into something with extra value to it). So I'm gonna ditch a bunch of meme pictures. I just scanned a picture of my late grandfather (died in 57') in British army uniforms. He looks like a movie star.
Also, yesterday someone uploaded to youtube a video of a show I went to, capturing a nice portion of the crowd that included me. You'd think that your friends will warn you you dance like combination between fucking biscuit and bananas, but nooooo. A friend told me later that "I told you you danced crazy", I replied with "oh, the fine line between "dancing crazy" and "dancing like a crazy person..."". Not that this or anything else is gonna stop me doing the dance of the brave little toaster in the future, but you know, it would have been nice to know in advance.
Link to my grandfather's picture. This is the whole set, for now: link. I think I'm gonna look for more now.
What a great picture, Shir.
Shir, this picture is amazing, too, in a movie-star way: [link]
Fantastic set, Shir. Your Grandmother had an amazing look as a young thing.
I started collecting pictures for this after understanding I have no idea what's going on in most of the pictures, and before most of my relatives in my grandparents' ages will pass away (my grandmother in the pictures died in 72'; my grandfather in 57', age 34; Mordechai sometime in the late 70s', I think. They all died young).
I'm looking for a certain picture now: it's my grandmother's family on the Vistula river's bank in Kraków, summer of 1939. I'm hoping to find it. It's so moving to be able to relate to those pictures, not to mention learning their historic value.
Wow, your grandmother is gorgeous, too.
I am so not in the mood today, I can't even tell you.
it's my grandmother's family on the Vistula river's bank in Kraków, summer of 1939.
What a place to be in 1939, with the German invasion about to happen in September.
I'll be in Krakow next week, and thinking of your family Shir.
