Reynolds, I'm a dangerous-minded man on a ship loaded with hurt. Now, why you got me chatting with your peons?

Yeah, the adjustment period isn't all fun. Honestly, with female cats, I'd say start with fostering a wee kitten (preferably not female) to see if it'll work. In all the cats we've had, the females have been the meanest to the new one, and only 2 have ultimately ended up buddies. The mom & daughter weren't. They'd still curl up with each other when it got cold, but they didn't like each other other than that. The boycats all ended up playing and cuddling together, and mothering the intruder girlcats. Fixed females are a lot more territorial than fixed males, IME.

That was the direction I was gonna go when I was planning on getting another once I had a house.

You can see how that worked out. Still in apartment. Teenage (sorta- under 6 mo) boycat.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I knew I should have gotten two when I went to the shelter four years ago. Oh, well.

This is pretty funny. A Fox News reporter (I use the term loosely) is at a diner in PA, asks the crowd who's going to vote for McCain. One man half-raises his hand and it's swatted down by his wife sitting next to him. No one else raises theirs. Guy asks who's going to vote for Obama. Just about everyone raises their hand, with the wife raising both of hers and her husband getting his up there, too. Guy turns back to the camera and says, "As you can see, it's pretty much split between the two here in Pennsylvania. Back to you."

I look more rad than Lutheranism

In Sarah Palin news, another excerpt from the Couric interview:

Palin on which newspapers she reads: ‘Um, all of them.’

She is familiar with all internet traditions.

Looking through my dad's pictures, there's a picture of a toddler wearing pink crocs. From what I remember of his travels, this was the large family compound (of yurts! Though I think they are called something else there) out in the middle of nowhere (=most of Mongolia) that they were invited to after running into one of their members even farther in the middle of nowhere, herding goats.

Pink crocs. Ah, globalization.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I bet Palin has never heard of my hometown newspaper, The Livonia Gazelle. It was the Gazette, but when it was sold there was some sort of copyright war and it got re-named Gazelle.

Sara, I did suggest calling Loki Kitten, but not KIT-TEN, which I think may be Alibelle's cat's name. (I don't just know the names of every pet in bandom, but also the Buffistas, apparently)

Lily continues to be the most photogenic child ever created, although Grace's expression is pretty priceless. And I love both of those names.

I'm still blaming you if my mom hears me calling him that, 'kay? It's very emphatic and I use it when telling the others to leave him alone or him to leave THEM alone. Which...he's a kitten, Devi's a bitch...it happens a lot.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Know who's cute? Jeremy Sisto is cute.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

All of the Buffista kids knock me ded with the cute! Grace and Noah get cuter every day! Well, they all do.

I have an 6 month old great niece that I got to see when she was 4 months old and was totally smitten. She has such an expressive face that I can't get enough. Once I finally get the reunion pictures up, I will link to them to show her off.

Little kids are the bests thing in the world.
