I kissed him, and I told him that I loved him. And I killed him.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It gives Stockholm Syndrome a whole new meaning, though.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I like the Swedish plan. The banks suffer and the taxpayers have the possibility of a profit for their investment.

Plus, it keeps the whole economy from seizing up like a Yugo with an oil leak.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh, plei, too cute. Grace isn't sure that touching should be allowed The next pic in the photostream has her real reaction.

Kristin, I'd be so grateful if you could burn it and I'd love to get together. Once I'm not feverish or contagious or whatever, we should.

I had more but the fever is eating my brain (I just hope not literally).

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I've been favoring the Swedish plan on list all along. At the moment it looks like what we're going to get is what was introduced last time with a few added features.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Kat, will do. I'll burn it tonight. Let me know when you're feeling better (I have a cold too, so I feel your pain) and we'll make plans. I think our plans may have to include cupcakes.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

OMgosh, thank you everyone for the adorable babies and toddlers! Totally made up for a cranky-too-hot day.

Oh and happy birthday, Alibelle! Miss you 'round these parts.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I've been favoring the Swedish plan on list all along.

I quite like this too. Taking equity to the value of any financial injection is a pretty reasonable demand from the taxpayer's perspective, and gets as close to market discipline as you can where the market's lost the capacity to provide it. (I would expect the govt to start selling down the equity it gains when the market stabilises and they can get a reasonable price for it, as Sweden did.) Plus, socialising losses and privatising gains is exactly the kind of environment that will create another crisis. To my mind, it's worse even than doing nothing.

Loki's being a pesky little brother. He kept leaping on Mister Kitty. Mister Kitty is fighting back, but it's all good. No one is getting hurt or scared. I think it is....play.

Now Devi... well, that is slowly improving.

I just loaded my dad's Mongolia photos. Holy god is that some beautiful country. I think I'll load the best into my flickr account. A preview: [link] (There's one Aimee will like.)

It's raining. I really hope they patched the roof (they came last night to see where the leak was.)

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Awesome fashion photos (where awesome = bizarre): [link]

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Yay for playing! Yay for slow improvement on the Devi front!

Stories like the standoff between Devi and Loki are the main reason why I keep rethinking the idea that Amarna might like a friend to play with when I'm not around. She's so much a fan of keeping my attention that she might not like a competitor.

In Sarah Palin news, another excerpt from the Couric interview:

Palin on which newspapers she reads: ‘Um, all of them.’
