Spike's Bitches 42: Which question do you want me to answer first?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Oh, speaking of drug tolerances and whatnot, I need advice. My insomnia has been fairly bad this week, which is no surprise, after 5 days of vacation where my sleep schedule slid back toward its nocturnal setting, plus PMS and the start of my period.

I have taken Ambien three nights in a row now; a full dose on Monday night, and then half a dose Tuesday night and last night. (Even with the half a dose last night, I still didn't fall asleep until past 4AM, ugh.) I REALLY want to fall asleep tonight, but am a little apprehensive about taking sleepy drugs again. I don't think I'm completely dependent on them, but it still makes me twitchy. But. I want to sleep. Oh lord, do I want to sleep.

Advice?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Take half a dose, a nice, warm lavendar bath, and then warm milk. It's gross (unless you like it), but the [insert chemical here] in the milk really comes out with the heating and should make you sleepy.

Unless you've tried all of this and it didn't work, in which case, I would say read an encyclopedia.

Mostly lurking...

So, since we're bitching about students. Oh, wait. We're not. Can I bitch about entitled parents who think it's ok to LEAVE THE SCHOOL PROPERTY while their children are playing on the playground...since I'm there--even though their children are not in after care (and without asking and/or informing me that they are doing this)?

I could strangle about five mothers right now. Fortunately, I have a very supportive principal, and these mothers will not be allowed to leave their children at school tomorrow until after they have spoken with the principal about the inappropriateness of such an act.

Yes, this means I was left with 30 kids in my care at one point today. And I couldn't go find help because I couldn't very well leave 30 kids unattended on the playground.

Are you freakin' SERIOUS, vw? OMG, really??

Some people should not be allowed to breed, honestly.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

And I couldn't go find help because I couldn't very well leave 30 kids unattended on the playground.

You need a batsignal or something.

Some people should not be allowed to breed, honestly.

In times past, natural selection would have rapidly weeded these genes out.

“Not dead yet!”

Barb, have you ever tried Ultram?

Not that I can recall, Cash. I'll ask my sister (the OR nurse about it).

Luckily, I don't appear to have any allergies to meds other than Erythromyocin. OMG, I puked like I have never puked before in my life, the one time I took that stuff. But of course, that's an antibiotic, so it doesn't come up so often.

I've really enjoyed Demerol the couple of times I've had it. Once was when I was in labor with Nate-- the nurse put a little in my I.V. and I was like "Baby? I'm having a baby?"

The terrifying thing was that I was seeing little tie-dye beanie babies dancing around my head. Very trippy shit.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

vw, that's craziness! I'm sorry you had to deal with that.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

For the hefty sum of $1, I am now the proud owner of a 1993 Ford Taurus Wagon.

Now, I just need to get the power steerng fixed and it's MINE MINE MINE.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I had demerol for my gastroscopy. Bunnies in waistcoasts danced around the ceiling border in the recovery room.

Not javachik

When I had shingles last year, neurontin was the best thing EVER. [link] It's an anti-epileptic, and what it does is disrupt the neurotransmitters that are sending pain signals. It's great stuff. I have no idea if it's hard to get a prescrip. from a doc or not. I was in so much pain, I couldn't have cared less about any side effects, but as I recall, there were none anyway. Apparently, it's used in the hospice world a lot since it's such a good painkiller.
