Can I bitch about entitled parents who think it's ok to LEAVE THE SCHOOL PROPERTY while their children are playing on the playground...since I'm there--even though their children are not in after care (and without asking and/or informing me that they are doing this)?
Are you freakin' SERIOUS, vw? OMG, really??
Some people should not be allowed to breed, honestly.
And I couldn't go find help because I couldn't very well leave 30 kids unattended on the playground.
You need a batsignal or something.

In times past, natural selection would have rapidly weeded these genes out.
Barb, have you ever tried Ultram?
Not that I can recall, Cash. I'll ask my sister (the OR nurse about it).
Luckily, I don't appear to have any allergies to meds other than Erythromyocin. OMG, I puked like I have never puked before in my life, the one time I took that stuff. But of course, that's an antibiotic, so it doesn't come up so often.
I've really enjoyed Demerol the couple of times I've had it. Once was when I was in labor with Nate-- the nurse put a little in my I.V. and I was like "Baby? I'm having a baby?"
The terrifying thing was that I was seeing little tie-dye beanie babies dancing around my head. Very trippy shit.
vw, that's craziness! I'm sorry you had to deal with that.
For the hefty sum of $1, I am now the proud owner of a 1993 Ford Taurus Wagon.
Now, I just need to get the power steerng fixed and it's MINE MINE MINE.

I had demerol for my gastroscopy. Bunnies in waistcoasts danced around the ceiling border in the recovery room.
When I had shingles last year, neurontin was the best thing EVER.

It's an anti-epileptic, and what it does is disrupt the neurotransmitters that are sending pain signals. It's great stuff. I have no idea if it's hard to get a prescrip. from a doc or not. I was in so much pain, I couldn't have cared less about any side effects, but as I recall, there were none anyway. Apparently, it's used in the hospice world a lot since it's such a good painkiller.
t puts on jaunty RN hat
Titrating the various -codones to personal pain relief is no big deal. We do it all the time at the hospital, and routinely give 15 mg of oxycodone every 4 hours to people in severe pain. No problem whatsoever. You might feel nauseated, and you may never poop again (the two most common side effects of narcotics are nausea and constipation), but you'll get some pain relief, which is very important.
But I must beg you please please please never to take more than 975 mg of acetaminophen every six hours, with a maximum daily dose of 4 grams, and then don't sustain that dose for more than 10 days.
Many pain medications are some combination of narcotics (oxycodone, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, etc.) and acetaminophen (also abbreviated as APAP) in varying dosages, usually written as 2.5/325, 5/650, etc., with the former being the narcotic dose and the latter being the acetaminophen dose.
Acetaminophen toxicity is very dangerous and the liver damage can be irreversible. It can be fatal. There's no antidote, and it's just an ugly, ugly thing.
OK, I'm all done. I hope that didn't sound too preachy.
My brother has an ancient taurus (I think) he got on the cheap. It came with a suspicious stain (we've decided it is from a dead body) but is a total workhorse. He got it for gas mileage and calls it the green goblin. May yours prove to be as solid.
That hat is surely jaunty!
