Mal: Okay. She won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. But she is solid. Ship like this, be with ya 'til the day you die. Zoe: 'Cause it's a deathtrap.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I kept thinking, "Wait. That's Julie Benz! What happened?" That neckline does nothing for the boobs.

I think the pattern of Vanessa Williams dress is really striking. She wisely avoided a necklace with the strap of jewels.

LOVE Felicity Huffman's hair and dress. I'm with you on the nude look -- usually not a color I think is flattering on many.

For example, nude look done wrong: January Jones. And she's generally gorgeous! Also, when the nude look goes monochrome, I'm not into it at all. Like one of or even two of the actresses on House.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Yeah, not loving January. A bit too underwear for me.

I like the balance between Vanessa's strap and the bracelet of similar width on the opposite wrist. I just want to reach in and Photoshop all her sparklies to white or black.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Whoa, I had no idea that the Emmys were on tonight. I'm so out of it these days.

I am way too addicted to TJs gourmet popcorn. Mmmm. I would polish off the bag if I could.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I thought that Lisa Edelstein's hair and makeup looked great, but her dress seemed too young for her.

Now tagless for your comfort.

DH made two excellent observations today:

1. When Kurt Warner was being interviewed on PTI about how Matt Leinart was taking getting benched over Warner as QB for the Arizona Cardinals, he said that Leinart was "great about it" WHILE SHAKING HIS HEAD.

2. On 60 Minutes, John McCain was asked if Sarah Palin was ready to be president. He replied, "Absolutely" WHILE SHAKING HIS HEAD.

In both these cases, their body language directly contradicts what they were saying. Interesting.

Awwww. They're so cute before they're big enough to eat you.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Awwww. They're so cute before they're big enough to eat you.

They really are. I wonder if their newborn bite is as icky as a grown up one. Or if they have to cultivate some of that noxious mess they keep in their mouths. It's ... so cute.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Cultivate. Their teeth have serrations, in which bits of meat get stuck, facilitating the growth of toxic bacteria in their mouths. Komodo dragons in zoos are fed a less disease-ridden diet and have better oral hygiene, and don't develop the same toxic bite.
