You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The guinea pig wearing the crown in the second photo looks just like a pet I used to have. Not an entree!

I was just thinking - there are quite a lot of animals that humans eat, and a much smaller set of animals that humans dress up in wacky costumes. However, I'd expect the intersection of these two sets to be extremely small.

In fact, I can't think of any other examples (where the same animal gets dressed up, then eaten).

Compassionately intolerant

I guess the paper panties on a pork roast don't count.

Wow--the 9th-inning Brewers pitcher was down 3-0 to Edmonds (first Cub up), and looks to have thrown at him in frustration over the way the entire series has gone (Cubs are winning 9-1 and are ready to sweep all four games), and was tossed out of the game by the ump (no warning, just outta there). Ball went behind Edmonds, so they didn't even get that one right.

That's weak. And bad baseball karma. It's one thing to plunk a guy after the other team has purposefully thrown at your player. But to go after somebody because you're losing and want to make a statement is pathetic.

Oh well. Brewers got swept by their rivals in a pennant race. That's enough for them to chew on for August.

And they got swept at Wrigley Field North--oops, I meant to say "at home." The way the Cubs fans take over Miller Park is fun to watch.

The score is now 11-1; Fontenot just picked up two RBIs with a double. I wonder how tall he really is? He looks like he's around 5'4" or so.

I've been to two Cubs/Brewers games - one in Milwaukee and one at Wrigley. Those games were so much fun, as many insults get yelled back and forth between the FIB and Cheesehead fans.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Looks like the Manny Ramirez trade that was all but closed has fallen apart and he'll stay with the Red Sox. It's like a passion play they need to put on every couple years.

The reports now are saying that the trade has gone through.

He's going to the Dodgers, not the Marlins.

Does the piglet in tiny boots to protect from the mud count? If it then gets turned into bacon? (Mmm, bacon)

Yeah, I was just coming in to fix my post with the details, but you beat me to it. Manny goes to the Dodgers. Jason Bay goes to the Sox, and the Pirates get Brandon Moss and Craig Hansen from the Sox and Andy LaRoche and Bryan Morris from the Dodgers.
