I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

he is the longest-serving member of the House

And has been involved in AK politics since before statehood. I, for one, am very happy to see the snake get caught for something.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

You know what sounds good for lunch? Panera's Strawberry Poppyseed salad. I had it a couple days ago, and now want it again. Also, because I did a friend search on my email on facebook, I'm really hoping a blanket invite didn't go out to my contacts list. It said it canceled that option. Anyone here would be welcome but if it went to my old dept chair...oh God.

Have made it to final consideration stage at Google. Now I sit around waiting to answer any of my recruiter's questions and frantically e-mail all my references.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cool, shrift! My fingers are crossed for you. Tightly.

Isn't he also the guy who wouldn't back down on building the bridge o' pork, aka the bridge to nowhere?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Go Shrift! I have my fingers crossed for you.

This weekend at Lane Bryant I found a shirt in forest green. I babbled excitedly at the sales clerk about what a beautiful color it was and how happy I was to see something in that shade. She calmly replied, "Yes, we're starting to get the fall colors in."

Susan, the clerk was probably talking about "fall colors" in the context of what colors have been deemed "IN" for the fall 2008 fashion season. Most sales clerks have no idea of color groupings in terms of seasons.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Yay, shrift!!!!!

Okay, y'all. I talked to a friend of mine and she has a new food in the bacon front. A friend of hers made Bacon Vodka. Yes, Bacon. Vodka.

He said that he put bacon in the vodka (yes, COOKED bacon, lest he run the risk of trich) and stuck it in the freezer for some amount of time, then removed the bacon and strained the liquid through a coffee filter to, gulp, remove the fat from the liquid. Afterward, he threw in a jalapeno—you know, to give it more flavor.

She said it burned like a mother going down and the taste was fairly vile.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Susan, the clerk was probably talking about "fall colors" in the context of what colors have been deemed "IN" for the fall 2008 fashion season.

I realized that, though looking back at my post I see that wasn't clear. It's just that she didn't grasp my excitement that this was a color I hadn't seen in YEARS, rather than one that shows up every year around this time.
