Go Shrift! I have my fingers crossed for you.
This weekend at Lane Bryant I found a shirt in forest green. I babbled excitedly at the sales clerk about what a beautiful color it was and how happy I was to see something in that shade. She calmly replied, "Yes, we're starting to get the fall colors in."
Susan, the clerk was probably talking about "fall colors" in the context of what colors have been deemed "IN" for the fall 2008 fashion season. Most sales clerks have no idea of color groupings in terms of seasons.
Oh, shrift, typing with crossed-fingers for you.
Yay, shrift!!!!!
Okay, y'all. I talked to a friend of mine and she has a new food in the bacon front. A friend of hers made Bacon Vodka. Yes, Bacon. Vodka.
He said that he put bacon in the vodka (yes, COOKED bacon, lest he run the risk of trich) and stuck it in the freezer for some amount of time, then removed the bacon and strained the liquid through a coffee filter to, gulp, remove the fat from the liquid. Afterward, he threw in a jalapeno—you know, to give it more flavor.
She said it burned like a mother going down and the taste was fairly vile.
And has been involved in AK politics since before statehood. I, for one, am very happy to see the snake get caught for something.
And in response, I guess Alaskans are looking to new political models: [link]

I realized that, though looking back at my post I see that wasn't clear. It's just that she didn't grasp my excitement that this was a color I hadn't seen in YEARS, rather than one that shows up every year around this time.

I wouldn't vote for some artsy coffee-shop elitist even if he could fetch federal grants or dig up new solutions to city problems.
Shocking! Bennigan's and Steak and Ale going out of business!

Good luck with Google Shrift!
Steak and Ale was still in business?
