Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did notice that they didn't change the loop of "cultural" music when the Chinese athletes came in -- it wasn't the bagpipes that I heard, but something equally not-Chinese.

Art Crawl!!!

Yes, random Scotland the Brave!

Perhaps, they should do that randomly throughout the Games.

The Wall Arch in Utah's Arches national park has collapsed.

Aww! That's so sad!!

I want to go have a life, but I also want to sit on my couch and watch the Olympics nonstop for the next two weeks. Dilemma!!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Aesthetically, it's sad that the Wall Arch fell but in the whole "being able to watch geology happen," it's amazing.

Best quote in the article: "Not being a geologist, I can't get very technical but it just went kaboom"

Oh, I wants to tag it, I do...

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I heart geology. Very very much.

Unlike people, it's steady and constant. However, somehow, even when it's predictable, it's strong, amazing and can change your life. And it comes with explosives and acids and experiments and hiking and cool hammers.

Sorry, I think I'm drooling again.

My brother just sent me pictures of D with his hair spiked into a blue mohawk, with an oh-so-serious expression. It's cracking me up.

Me too!

Continents collide and new oceans form and sediments reveal this whole history on timescales we really can't comprehend but we keep trying to, learning more and more. Amazing.
