I found it funny that the drums were judged too intimidating so the drummers were told to smile more. I LIKE intimidating drums.

I didn't watch any of the opening ceremonies because I am a dum-dum who forgot they were on, and because I have a non-Intel-based Mac, NBC doesn't want me to watch their video. WTF, NBC?

*(Yes, I mean "literally" in its actual sense, unlike the egregious misuses of it that seem to be increasing in number. How does one MISUSE "literally"? Its meaning is fairly clear, god DAMN. Yes, that was the weird part for me. I mean, piping of one sort or another has a long tradition when you want something LOUD over a big crowd of people -- but... Scotland!
I did notice that they didn't change the loop of "cultural" music when the Chinese athletes came in -- it wasn't the bagpipes that I heard, but something equally not-Chinese.
