Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

So sorry, Drew. I'm glad though that you got to get home to the family to support them, and let your father know you loved him.

I'm so sorry about your father, Drew. But I am glad he had his final day at home with his family. Much love to you.

ND, I'm so sorry about your father.

Wait--is that where the Serenity premiere afterparty was held? It just seems right seeing NF and NPH there, and, well, it is the only place I've seen either of them in person.

Hmmm... maybe. It does seem right doesn't it. I had forgotten that NPH was there.

Much love, hugs and prayers to you all.

Natterinos-

I have been asked to create a job description for myself that will help start the process for moving me up one more grade. I have no examples of that grade available to me. My actual job duties aren't changing so much as I will have no supervision in them and I will be doing a lot more planning etc. I don't really supervise anyone, but the pay grades here are based a lot on how many people you supervise.

Help?

Librarian Warlord

Hmm. . . Pay grade decisions at my u. are sometimes weighted by whom you talk to Sophia in addition to/in place of supervising people. IOW, one reason my pay grade is higher is because I am expected to speak to the Dean, and the other librarian with whom I'm parallel on the organizational chart isn't although we both supervise about the same number of people (eta: and our boss is the same person).

Would something like that maybe help you describe how incredibly important you are?

Hmmm. That is actually good idea. I will be talking directly to a lot of different people instead of sharing my ideas with my boss, and having her share them with higher ups.

The thing is, based I what I do, I don't think I should really rise a grade-- my duties match more closely to the grade I have now, I should just be at the top salary for that grade. The only way they supposedly have to give me a raise is to change the grade, though. But I still won't be allowed to do a lot of the financial/budgeting stuff associated with the grade I am moving into because of my accountant nemesis (who I will now be senior to!)

ND very sorry for your loss, but I'm glad it happened in the best way it was going to happen, under the circumstances.

And fuck cancer.
