Nah, they're just parasitic bastidges. :-) Really, about the only thing they really contribute to other animals is being food for larger critters (notably dragonflies). Other than that, they're a disease vector.

This attending had the decency to be nearer my parents' age than mine, which was kind of him.
So they wheeled me back out into the hall and generally played right into my seen-as-drugseeker paranoia. I actually feel like I've been rude, somehow. But this is exactly the same headache I had this morning, and somehow I'm sure I shouldn't feel guilty about that.
Now watch as I tie myself up in knots about getting a glass of water.
