Nah, they're just parasitic bastidges. :-) Really, about the only thing they really contribute to other animals is being food for larger critters (notably dragonflies). Other than that, they're a disease vector.

So they wheeled me back out into the hall and generally played right into my seen-as-drugseeker paranoia. I actually feel like I've been rude, somehow. But this is exactly the same headache I had this morning, and somehow I'm sure I shouldn't feel guilty about that.

Grace and Noah did provide me with some brief respite--I think it was the cheerios on the part of Young Master and the sleeping beauty.
