Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

You travelling somewhere this 4th ita? Oh, and how's the headache?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I find that the 4th is a big driving holiday, as people go to various BBQs, camping trips, whathaveyou. Not so much the flying, though. It's more of a community holiday than a family holiday - at least, that's the gestalt I've always felt.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

And it falls on a Friday this year, so I figure more people than normal will travel to take advantage of the long weekend.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I got an invite to head a few miles north and join a friend and his family for their town's July 4th parade. I haven't spent time with them in a year, so I'm looking forward to it. I'll probably be working on the 5th, and I just committed to going in and donating platelets on the 6th, so that'll be a busy weekend for me.

I've been begging for stuff to do for work....so I just get an email "Oh, so and so says she's going to San Antonio on July 3rd and you could come with..." I'm like "...right. That's only going to cost an arm and a leg (edit: not that I'd be paying, but whatever), be really annoying, and REQUIRE that I travel ON JULY 4th. Way to finally offer me something only to make me TURN IT DOWN"

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We are flying to my mom's on the 4th, so we can be there to plan for her 80th (!) birthday bash on the 7th. I am in charge and given my niece's recent death, she didn't want anything big, but I have spent a month browbeating thoughtfully convincing her to let us make a fuss over her. So fuss there shall be.

hip deep in pie

Pico is back from the vet. Still undiagnosed. They gave him some appetite stimulatant and some subcutaneous fluids fro the short term. If this doesn't work, more tests. The appetite suppressant has made him totally stoned. He's like a zombie cat. Poor guy.

But at least he is eating.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Glad Pico is eating. sending the ma~~`

Wrote my letter to all the City people about the 'incident' that happened on Saturday. Emphasis on economic impact with a bit on personal saftey. My area had a horrid reputation - 13 bars on 2 blocks. Nothing else - and lots of bar fights friday thru Sunday. Not for a long time . Now these things are happening

and to be very honest -- the owner is an ass.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You travelling somewhere this 4th ita?

My mother wants me to, but if it involves wrestling, it's not going to happen.

Oh, and how's the headache?

Frightful. And I don't know if I can do this week's worth without killing it.

Still undiagnosed.

Pooh on uncertainty. But eating is good.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh man, beth, I heard about that on the news this am. No idea it was near you.

ita, ita, ita. That just sucks.

Fourth of July not typically a flying holiday, I don't think, but coming on a Friday makes it less easy to predict.

Eat up, Pico!
