A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We went to see a production of Cabaret a friend directed at the high school he teaches at last night. It's an inner-city school and really didn't have much of a drama department before he got there, so it's very cool to see the kids so involved. Not only did it have a kick-ass teeny little Filipino Sally Bowles and an all-Hispanic set of Nazis, at the end of the show the cast stopped the curtain call and asked a "special guest" onstage. A teacher came up, and then asked a woman, another teacher, up onstage and he got on one knee and PROPOSED! After she cried and said yes and we all cheered, he asked for the houselights to be turned on and both sets of their parents were there as well as a surprise. It was adorable.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I love free movies!

It was adorable.

Aw, that sounds like a great evening!

When I was out and about, I saw two people I meant to mention here: First, for shrift, at the subway station, there was a woman with fully blinged-out high-heeled silver sandals on, with capri pants and a t-shirt. Second, I saw my first real-life Lolita! She looked just like Little Bo Peep, although don't tell her I said that.

No one in that audience will forget the performance ever! That's sweet.

I ran errands. Had a slight issue where my car windows wouldn't roll back UP. Panic. Finally got them to. It was weird Not sure if I'd hit the lock or what, but another thing on the list to have checked out at the mechanic's. Along with a/c recharge. OMG HOT OUT THERE.

Don't get me wrong, I like the heat and can usually cope pretty well with it. Except I have to acclimate. We've barely had any days in the 80 and little humidity and all of a sudden it is 95 and humid! I got so slimy and hot (and went through 64 oz water in 2 hours and that was only carting stuff to and from the car and waiting for the a/c to make progress against the greenhouse effect) I took a cool shower when I got home.

And now I'm having a huge bowl of salad with croutons and grape tomatoes and parm. I was going to clean today, but I think that can wait.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am at a kids bday party that was supposed to start 15 min ago. We are waiting with 10 kids in the lobby of a sports gym. I hate people.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I am eating one of the popsicles I bought, and it's not fully re-frozen yet. Ah well. It's still delicious!

msb, are you at least inside?

sarameg - Jun 07, 2008 1:12:45 pm PDT #1748 of 10003

I hope the necessary people show up quick. Or have shown up.

I think I still have some strawberry popsicles from LAST year in my freezer. They're probably burnt by now. I have way too much crap in my freezer. I'll go for a period eating only one sort of thing, then get tired of it with one or two servings left and...there they sit.

Bad Wolf

I want to cook something. Like from scratch. Anyone got any recipe ideas. Something that says, hey a tornado may land on my ass at any minute but I could give two shits.

So weird to hear about all teh hot. Because it not yet 55 degrees here in Seattle.

I went to see a movie about Iranian transsexuals. It is apparently all good by the Iranian government. They even pay for it and change your birth certificate. That does not mean it's all good with your family. And since being gay still means you can be put to death, a lot of people who are really just gay go get the surgery. Which is fucked up. It was seriously depressing. And they only showed boy to girl trannies, except for one woman who came in and talked to the doc about becoming a man, briefly. I wanted more, though I guess that's less common. But still would've been interesting to get that side too. Anyway. Interesting, but depressing.
