So weird to hear about all teh hot. Because it not yet 55 degrees here in Seattle.

I went to see a movie about Iranian transsexuals. It is apparently all good by the Iranian government. They even pay for it and change your birth certificate. That does not mean it's all good with your family. And since being gay still means you can be put to death, a lot of people who are really just gay go get the surgery. Which is fucked up. It was seriously depressing. And they only showed boy to girl trannies, except for one woman who came in and talked to the doc about becoming a man, briefly. I wanted more, though I guess that's less common. But still would've been interesting to get that side too. Anyway. Interesting, but depressing.

So I went to Target. On a Saturday afternoon. Who thought that was a good idea? But I picked up pictures. Then I walked to Lowe's and got a bug zapper. Then I walked to BevMo to get fixin's for Italian Cream Soda.

Now I'm home and making cabernet pot roast and sweet potatoes (for the baby). I've got to figure out how to power the bug zapper now.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, that was disappointing . . . but hey - isn't DaTara by Tiznow?

We're under a watch with one warning northeast of us and another southeast of us.

Art Crawl!!!

Oh yeah - I believe the worst finish by a horse who had won the Derby and the Preakness. He wasn't firing and Desormeaux eased him - so he finished last.

Da'Tara was supposed to be the speed in the race - but I guess he's got a bit more than that. Denis of Cork was second and there was a dead heat for third between Anak Nakal and uh, somebody else. Can't recall who (Ready's Echo?)

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just made curried tempeh-mango salad. And then had to wash my arms all the way up to the elbows because mango juice gets everywhere. I also realized I forgot to buy limes, so I threw in some orange juice instead of the lime juice, since it was the only citrus of any sort that I had on hand.

It's been around 95 degrees all day, and really humid. I've got my air conditioner and fan on, and that makes it nearly bearable in here. Way too hot for any cooking that involves much actual heat, though.
