Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Yum. We had whole wheat penne with zucchini, onions, garlic, herbs, and feta. Also, yum.

They keep cutting into tv with an Amber Alert. Apparently a father took off with his daughter during a supervised visit. So sad.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Also, Go Emmett! I'm looking forward to reading the game report later.

We won! We're in the state semifinals! (Technically the Northern California Divisional Championship.)

beth came by to watch. Emmett mashed a ground rule double (one hop and over the fence), and walked three times and scored three times. Caught the whole game again, and there was a great play at the plate. His friend Jack threw a guy out from fairly deep in left field. Emmett got the ball ahead of the runner and blocked him off completely.

If we win the next game we're in the finals. Just like that.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Go team Emmett!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Sounds like some excellent baseball was going on. Go, Emmett!

Man, I'm so bummed - I would SO be at those games, Hec. Cheering like a loon. I'm so happy for Emmett and his teammates. VERY COOL.

Well the two years I lived in Washington State, the A's went to the world series. They don't seem to be on track to do that without me, so maybe the mojo has passed on to Emmett's team.

What team did they play? What was the final score? YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Hec, when I went to Amazon this afternoon to look something up, this is the way the page greeted me (the highlighting is mine, but still): [link]

It just made me giggle.
