Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Woohoo Emmett!
In mememe news, I think I've found my perfect bra. And to think I nearly didn't try it on when the Nordstrom's bra lady brought it to the dressing room because it's somewhere between fuchsia and magenta and has foam in the cups (such that they stick out when empty). But it was comfy and fit well, so I bought it.
I didn't realize what I had until I brought it home and tried it on under a shirt. It's amazing. It's like the bra version of a Regency corset--it lifts the girls way up high, where they used to be when I was 15 and wore a C-cup and gravity hadn't begun to take its toll.
Next step: see if it comes in white or beige so I can wear it under anything, and order a bunch of spares lest it be discontinued...
I can't believe I'm gushing on and on about a bra, but it's totally Best Bra Evah.

Um, link?
yay team Emmett!!!! Yippee!! When is the next round played?
Dinner was Savory bread pudding with Romano, mozzarella and onions.
dinner tonight was grilled chicken with a mixture of sauteed fresh corn, fresh okra, tomatoes, and a little bit of bacon. mmmmm.
the Yankees are not doing well tonight. Sure, they are 8-0 since the all star, I get a chance to watch them, and they start to do bad. To boot, it's against the BoSox. The game isn't over yet. They could still pull it out.
Emmett did really well. and Matilda was happy to name everything ( and every one ) so I knew who was who and what was what. Though she wasn't so sure mom should get out of her chair to say good bye to me ( seems there were some rules going on ) And it was nice to see osme of the kids David has talked about.I can't say they have faces -- but I've ssen them play
I was going to post right away -- but I came home and found 3 people plus Matt in our garage -- our neighbor that is building his first uke,our friend who need some basic ework on his guitar( that he is just learning to play, and D, who was 11 when he built his guitar with matt ( now 13) and needed to do some maintenance on his guitar. One guy brought wine - so I pulled out the cracker and cheese and there was a party in my front yard. Part of why I had to leave the game was that I was in the middle of a carnitas experiment -- so I went all housewife/martha stewart -- and made every one try it . even my neighbor that wjust happened to be outside.( not perfect , but damn good)
This was not how I envisioned this sunday. However,it was fun
What team did they play? What was the final score? YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!
We played the mighty Danville team. (They won the division four times in a row in the 90s.) We scored early and kept scoring the whole game. Which was necessary because they kept coming back. The game was played on a dirt infield which we haven't played on at all this year. They scored almost all their runs on grounders shooting through on the hard packed dirt.
Final score was 13 to 9. Arlo lead off with a triple (for the fourth time in our run. You know what's awesome? Leadoff triples!) Matthew (our #2 hitter, who has been in a slump) and Jack (cleanup hitter, also slumpy) both had excellent days at the plate. Jack (whose father is dating EM) hit a line drive home run to dead center. Just a lightning bolt. The umpires were talking about it after the game and I didn't have the heart to tell them that was far from the most impressive home run Jack has hit.
Jack is probably the best power hitter in our entire district - he's unbelievably strong and the ball flies off his bat like it was shot out of a cannon. But he also strikes out a lot and goes through prolonged slumps, so it was great for him to have a big hit, and throw out a runner at the plate. (Also, Jack has a huge crush on Matilda and wants to spend a weekend in SF just so he can hang out with her. He's a sweet kid.)
Tep, it's always fun when Amazon links all the Buffista writers together. "If you like Swordfishtrombones, you might like Vampire People and Shoot Out the Lights."
Omnis, this is the highest level we go for this age group. Next year our team is 12 and would have the chance to go all the way to the Little League World Series.
