Okay, anyone who waxes and lives in the Burbank area needs to know about the waxer I just went to. She is the best. I can't believe how much she mitigated the pain; plus, she's got great energy and a great sense of humor. I will not go to anyone else from this point on.

Now you tell me. I'm in Dallas! wait... oh ya, I don't wax.

Curious, what does she do to help mitigate the pain? A topical? Novacaine? Lidacaine? sugarcane?

(in case you were wondering, BC has NO CLUE what he is talking about. We now return you to your regular schedule program, already in progress)

So I'm at home doing work. It's amazingly difficult to read architectural drawings, especially when they've been reduced 25%. Where is my magnifying glass? Yup. At work. Eyes. Ow.

ION, it looks like I got my Airport Extreme working, so now my Xbox can log onto Live! Off to game room to announce that lil tidbit.

not your mom's socks.

rain delayed in JFK. Flight rescheduled from 6:30 departure to 9:15. Counting us lucky to still have a gate though. Iris is doing great thanks in part to her suitcase which turned the entire airport into a giant ride (it's the goofy looking one over at travelswithchild.org)... We'll she's doing great except for the part where she... bit DH out of boredom. I won't say where.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I heard on the radio the other morning (the same day we started talking about hair, it was quite surreal, like the convo just moved from one place to the other), that dusting with baby powder before waxing makes it less painful. As I've never tried it, I have to proof to back it up with.

My family is pretty casual about bathroom time. My mother and I came and went as needed. I know my dad and my brothers did, too. It never bothered me, if you need something in the bathroom while someone else is in there, you go get it. If you stop to chat, no big deal. I do draw the line at taking the phone into the bathroom while it's potty time. I will take it in when I shower if I'm expecting a phone call that I don't want to miss.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

The baby powder thing is definitely true. It keeps the wax from sticking (much) to your skin.

Definitely true. Super!waxer baby-powered before doing the bikini, and it was much less painful.
