Mal: Gotta say, doctor, your talent for alienatin' folk is near miraculous. Simon: Yes, I'm very proud.

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

For creatures that will cheerfully devour the most disgusting, vile substances, they do seem to have remarkably delicate conststutions.

“Not dead yet!”

Hey d-- I grew up in North Miami, so basically a stone's throw. I'll be heading down there tomorrow, as a matter of fact and may be hitting some of the bars by Friday night, in desperate need of "medicinal help."

For those of you who know, my mother finally 'fessed up that she's seeing my dad again. For those of you who don't know that saga, they've been divorced for thirty years and the nicest thing she's said about him in that time is "that miserable sonuvabitch." Now they're seeing each other, in their dotage.

So now that she's 'fessed up, you can guess what came next, right?

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Also, non-moping~ma for Toto.

not your mom's socks.

~ma for T, coping~ma & surgery~ma for the dog Brenda, and no-mopies for Toto.

Hi Barb!

I'm releasing some long-held nonspecific~ma. I'd been asked by a friend to suggest some articles for her newspaper's travel section, but I haven't heard anything back from the section editors. boo.

On the other hand, Jessica's latest TWC post is so good, I don't really care about stinkin' newspapers.

Because books.

So now that she's 'fessed up, you can guess what came next, right?

I'm not sure I want to know. ::winces::

Lucy used to throw up on a daily basis. And Puck, when he was still with us. Long-haired cat + hair balls = the gift of vomit. Sometimes pets are worse than babies.

“Not dead yet!”

I'm not sure I want to know. ::winces::

Trust me, I didn't want to know either. ::sigh::

But, as I might have expected, it's some variation on "He's gotten so old, m'ija and he's a changed man. Don't you think you'd consider seeing him or at least allowing the children to see him? Just once?"

For over an hour on the phone.

::sighs again::

That's low, y'know. Because seriously, she knows I'm not going to put my kids into that situation without my being there. And she's not going to stop yammering about it until I do something. And since orange jumpsuits with sideseam pockets are so not a good look for me, I'll probably cave and let it happen once. Feh.

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Oh, dear. Poor Barb. What a crappy situation for you to be stuck in.

Lots of surgery and coping ~ma for Brenda and dog.

Our wings are not tired.

::hugs and gropes on everyone who popped in after I toddled off to bed::

Woo! Morning gropage. Wave to my DH and son on the way past Delray Beach, you can see my house from I-95. They are sweating it out for the rest of the month while I relax in the mountains.

Ok, hear me roar! Cool mountain air is helping me get my butt in gear. 5 days in a row now with the physical activity. Today I worked from 6:30-7:30 then went for a 3 mile walk and got back in time to shower and be in work mode again before 9. We have stairs here, which is a first since I lived in Fort Lauderdale 25 years ago, so I did 20 flights of stairs on the one day I couldn't walk because of rain. 240 stairs! It is a whole lot easier to exercise when it isn't blazing hot.

Brenda, huge amounts of ~ma headed your way.
