Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh BT, I can imagine feeling all kinds of conflicted about it even if you're happy for Bec.
{{billytea}} I figure hugs lean things over to the good side.
popping in. CRAZY whirlwind day. LONG.
WAIT,before I go into that, HAVE to say YIPEEE for GC and soon-to-be DW! So happy for you!
OK, back to me. Mom and I did a 30+ hour day. An all nighter. Got everything packed. The movers were late. In some respect, not a bad thing, as it gave an extra few hours to pack. There was a paperwork snafu between offices. It took a lot longer to pack the truck than I thought it would. Stupid stairs. I really am looking forward to new apt with no stairs at all, and appartently so is Alex the mover.
Anyhow, after 30+ hours, we head over to Darla's place to feed the kitties and much needed crash before going back to clean the pit I lived in. I called landlord to see what he had plans for, as no work has been done to the place in EIGHT YEARS. He was like "huh? wha? what have you done to the place?" I think he missunderstood the question. So I explained I was foggy from lack of sleep, and we arranged to meet up after work tuesday to exchange keys. Grr, as now I can't leave LA until AFTER rush hour. Then, while sleeping, he calls back and was like, "well, i am going to have a deep clean service anyhow, because I'm going to put the place on the market... yadda yadda yadda". But I didn't get the note until 11pm. I texted to see if he was awake. he is not. I'm hoping for a noon key exchange. I just want to get on the road.
OK, am hungry. am tired. not sure which to do. Love ya all. Back to greyishness.
Hey, omnis - I heard part of your interview on NPR yesterday! I had to go into work so I missed the end. You have a very nice voice, btw.
Wow, I'd never seen any Wondermark. That's fixed now.
This one captures my thought processes rather neatly.
Not me. They rented the place.
Yes, but we have been the recipients of your generosity over the past couple summers, which led us to decide to rent it for and entire week YAY. My weird nature fear didn't even really kick in! Except I would have weird fears falling asleep that a bear would get us. Oh! And we finally got down to the water! That was like the only thing we did not related to eating, sleeping, or drinking we did.
Oh! And we found the pie lady.
eta: Steph, You and the Boy should do that next year!
YES YOU SHOULD.
They really should!
What Pie Lady?
YAY Water!
I used to have Bear Dreams there too, even though I am pretty sure there are no bears there.
It's on the Other Side from the Rt. 15 road (something Cove Road?) She bakes pie at home and puts them in coolers on her front porch. You go up there, put the cash in the cooler, and take a pie! Brilliant. We had blueberry pie, with a couple slices still at home that I can hardly bear to eat because then they will be ALL GONE.
Mmm, pie and beer. Breakfast of champions!
We went to Lily's and the new Cockatoo restaurant (where the Goose Cove Lodge used to be)as well as the Maritime Cafe. We also bought a lobster and cooked it ourselves! I surprised myself by getting squeamish about it. When it went into the pot I had to run away till it stopped banging around.
