Good grief! Where is everyone? So quiet in here today...
I've crazy getting ready for house guests for the holiday weekend. Liv and I dropped Owen off at school this morning, went to the farmers market for strawberries, carrots, aspargus and fresh cut wildflowers and then we went to the gym. I worked out and then we went to pick up Owen. Then we went to Target for a few things (hahahahaha!) and got lunch.
Came home and ate lunch, then our babysitter came over and I took a nap (because I was up until 4 a.m. last night and Owen got up at 7:30 so I was running on empty by the afternoon).
Tonight I have to strip the kids' beds and wash their comforters, fold some more towels and pick up meat at the butchers'.
Okay, I think I have the overall estimate for Halloween put together. It is typed up and starting to look professional. Now I need to walk away from it for an hour or so and then come back and go through everything line by line and make sure I've accounted for all of my costs on this one.
CJ and I ditched all the boxes EVERYWHERE and went to a movie (Hancock). Then we stopped at a furniture store and I think I may have found a couch. Came home to measure and it would fit in the spot I have (STBX ended up with most of the living room furniture). The couch we might buy is even $200 less than I had budgeted for (leaving me with some potential car money...I hope).
Sorry for the meme drama babble. I think I'm avoiding unpacking.
For tonight? Avoid unpacking!
Suzi, definitely avoid unpacking for one night. You deserve some rest.
askye-
My mom's cat got diagnosed with the same exact thing about 6 months ago. She chose to give him the thyroid medicine, and they keep doing tests to assess the right balance-- I think she is down to 1/2 a pill every other day. He is doing fairly well.
unpacking? Wait. So. Once I get all this shit packed, then there is something about UNPACKING it. Have I mentioned I hate moving.
o_a, you can have it for about five minutes.
Ha! That explains where I got the burst of energy to lug out a ton of magazines. Now tired. thirsty. So much cooler at night. Thanks for the 5! let me know when you go to bed, and I'll borrow the productivity then. I promise to leave a full tank in the morning for ya.
I approve of you, omnis_audis.
Aw blush!
I approve of you, too!
Double blush.
OK, moving question. So. Um. Board games. They don't seem to fit in any of the off the shelf moving boxes. They fit in a huge one, but I do not have enough games to fill one of those, and then it'd be half empty. Thoughts? Advice? Them things are about 2" too long I tell you. Grrr.
Huge box, and fill around the edges with lightweight stuff (comforters are my fave, although moving from LA to Dallas it strikes me that you may not have a whole lot of those around either.)
Edited to close parens.
Good grief! Where is everyone? So quiet in here today...
Got back a short while ago from my gyn visit, which was slightly less fun than lisah's, as it turns out that the first visit after turning 40 comes with an extra-special bonus exam that is NO FUN AT ALL. I also have a lab slip for blood work (never had my cholesterol checked before) and a mammogram appointment for next Saturday.
I would
much
rather have been here, Bitching and Nattering away, I tell you what. But I was all grown-up and shit and took care of all my dreary grown-up business.
Suzi, you are not shirking your unpacking. This is because there is no unpacking to do because you are
still in California.
Don't you DARE tell me any different.
Also, omnis, no fair leaving the state before any of the Bayistas even made it down there to verify your existence! (I mean, sure, Kristin and ND will vouch for you, but they're shifty.)
And (((askye))) The land of worrisome credit and sick kitties and family stress is a horrible place to be.
