[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Hivemind question:

After I get through a meeting and lunch, I'm going to call the broker for the account DH set up last week to manage our inheritance. I'm calling mainly just to learn really basic stuff about How This All Works--e.g., "If the accountant transfers the stock to our account on 7/8 like he promises, and we sell X shares like we're planning, when will we actually have the cash on hand?" Stuff like that, so I'll have more information and therefore be less likely to freak out over things. (This is nothing the broker can help with, but I just had a near-nuclear meltdown upon learning that the accountant has moved the transfer date from 7/7 to 7/8, apparently because the Monday after a long weekend is just so busy. Which wouldn't be a big deal...except, if he can do that, what's to prevent him from deciding Tuesdays are busy too, and Wednesday is Hump Day, and, really, July is just a tough month because too many of his staff are on vacation, and then August is just too damn hot to think when you live in Oklahoma, etc.)

Anyway, what else should I ask this guy? We're planning to meet with him after all the initial stuff is taken care of to discuss our medium and long-term plans and get a feel for whether he's a good fit, so I'm looking for basic stuff now.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

There is a car at the end of our driveway blocking me in. Our drive is narrow at the beginning and then widens to fit four cars (two next to each other and two in back of them). I am assuming it's the new neighbors who I haven't met yet. I don't have to be anywhere right this minute, but it's still incredibly rude. I hope it's not a sign of things to come.

ETA: It was a teenager. I heard them coming down the stairs and said something. I'm sure he thinks I'm a bitca now.

True. I don't know why I always feel bad when I am not the one who did anything wrong. I felt like bitching about how it would have been difficult for me to go upstairs to have them move it, but I resisted.

Yeah! I've been a mean old lady for at least 15 years. It's just that complaining makes me so much happier than stewing!

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I can't stand when anyone blocks my driveway -- even if it is for just a short time. Part of it is that I can't get out any other way. and part of it is that I hate to ask anyone to move. and of course,I don't think I should have to ask anyone to move. But I am at a dead end and sometimes larger vehicles will block the way.

He had plenty of other options for parking. He could have pulled all the way in the driveway like he is supposed to or parked anywhere on the street, which is completely empty at the moment.

ETA: I'm kind of worried that they're going to settle into bad habits while we're on vacation, and we'll have a problem when we get home.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Susan, relax, I'm sure it's nothing to be worried about. It is true, the day after holiday there is increased traffic, so it could delay transfers.

I do not know the specifics of how long before funds are available. I would GUESS a day or two to confirm transfer, and a day or so if you want to sell before funds are liquid. Again, it's a GUESS. Either way. Breathe. It will be okay.

Thrive to spite them

Well, Anna is back from the vet. They were done by the time I got there (and it helps the vet is only a block from work).

So far on really bad news, although the blood tests won't be back until Wednesday. She does have an infected tooth so that's why she wasn't eating the dry food, I have an antibiotic for her. They won't clean her teeth at her age (she's 19, my Old Lady Kitty), and they don't really want to pull the tooth unless they have to. Her ears were dirty adn they cleaned them (she hasn't been letting me do that lately) and she was dehydrated so she got some fluids. Besides the medicine they gave me some special food to mix with her regular food. And I brought her home and she got out of the carrier and immiediately ate some of her food. So that's good.

And she has fleas, but not bad. But over all her eyes are good, she's not senile, and her head trembling may have been from her ears and she was shaking her ears or it was messing with her balance or something.

They vet was impressed at how well she is for her age so I feel better.

Well the blood work could show something is wrong with her, but she's not in any pain except discomfort from the tooth and that was what I was worried about, that she was in pain and I didn't realize it.

There could still be bad news though. But there's a lady at work with a lot of cats (like 15) and she wants to pare down so if something does happen to Anna I know where I'm going to get another cat.

Sex with a table. WAs he just rubbing up against it? Or was ...no I don't really want to know anything else.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Sex with a table.

Makes me feel downright (dare I say it?) vanilla.

What? I only have sex with my boyfriend, who is a human. Compared to a table-fucker, I'm pretty boring.

Oh, hi. I'm back from vacation. A little blonder, a little bit of sun poisoning (which SUCKS), and a lot less stressed for now. I go back to work tomorrow, so we'll see how long it takes to undo all the de-stress-ification.

I've read Beep Me and Press, but that's all. If I missed anything major, please to recap?
