What should I do, then? Send her a gift? Sacrifice? … Unholy fruit basket?

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

edit: they said at the end that it's a production of the BBC and Discovery Health.

Translation: Discovery paid in advance for American distribution rights of a BBC production. (All Discovery does for these shows is record American narration and add commercial breaks.)

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

Kitty-ma for Josie, Pico, Taz, and their human companions.

I should go for a bike ride. Kinda don't wanna. But new bike! But gronk. Big dilemma.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Aims, I just finished the laundry. After I have sorted the clothes you sent for season and size, I washed and folded the ones Olivia can wear. I have to ask you--did Em EVER wear the same outfit twice????

By the way, I especially appreciate the t-shirt that says, "If you think I'm cute, you should see my mommy" and "Just be glad I'm not a twin."

Our wings are not tired.

If you think I'm cute, you should see my mommy

Quite apt for both moms.

Mostly lurking...

If you think I'm cute, you should see my mommy

Heh. I bought one of those for my nephew, except I got it personalized, and it says, "If you think I'm cute, you should see my Auntie Val."

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I have to ask you--did Em EVER wear the same outfit twice????

Sometimes, a lot of times, no. Comes from my only having a limited number of outfits when I was young and therefore living vicariously through my daughter.

Will you be able to use a lot of it or most of it?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Aw, GC. I'm sorry about Josie. Poor her, and poor you.

Oh GC. {{{{HUGS}}}} Poor you guys and Josie. You've done so well by her.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Thanks for the hugs and thoughts. It's a tough decision, but we think it's best. I'm talking to the vet today and making an appointment for tomorrow afternoon. Then we have the weekend to mourn sweet kitty Jo and break in the new girl. It feels weird to be planning to bring a new kitty in right after Jo is gone. I am so sad about Josie but excited about new kitty at the same time.

I feel like I kind of have to make a quick decision as I don't want to risk the shelter putting the kitten down (she's been there since 6/14). I think I'm going to go over there today at lunch, hold little kitty (I didn't do that yesterday), and if all goes well, seal the deal. They have to spay her before I can take her anyway, so I'm thinking if I tell them I can get her on Saturday and pay the fee, they can go ahead and do the surgery tomorrow.

Compassionately intolerant

I agree that saving another kitty's life...and giving her the love and care that Josie enjoyed, is the greatest tribute you could offer to that gentle spirit.

Bless all your hearts GC.
