I just found out our choir director's wife has cancer of the kidney--hopefully early stage and still contained, but they won't really know until they do surgery to remove the kidney next month. She's not a super close friend of mine, but she's a fellow alto and a lot of fun to hang out with at choir and church. Just one of those joyous and wise people, you know? She and her husband met through the choir and have only been married a year or two (they're both maybe 10-15 years older than me, I think, so late 40's/early 50's), and I'll just be so angry at the universe if they don't get many happy years together.

There will def be pictures of new kitty. She is a very pretty little thing, with the most gorgeous clear blue eyes you've ever seen. I'm thinking of naming her something Asian, like Ming or something along those lines. She is a little princess, she is. Another trait she seems to share with Jo - they know they are just so pretty. I wonder how our other kitty (Bianca AKA Binky) will react.
