Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Is this the place where we come to confess our sins?

I am scum. I have wimped out on the second wedding of a niece this year. The first because I couldn't afford to fly, this time one of my sisters was going to come down and fetch me cause she's off for the summer (teacher). I was looking forward to it, but I've had a stubborn respiratory virus that won't leave and the stress of getting all the things done that I needed to in order to leave has aggravated my Fibromyalgia and CFS.

But, I feel terrible about missing another family event.

Someone tell me it will be okay, please?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

quester it is not your fault. I'm sure your family understands that you would be there if you could and if they don't understand they're a big bunch of poo-poo heads!

Thanks, Laga. They are actually great people - well, most of them ( it's a big family) - but they all live up in Iowa and I live in Kansas City, so I don't see them as much as I would like. I can't drive that far and it is now way too expensive to fly.

boss just asked me if my first choice place to transfer is indeed my first choice. Keeping fingers crossed that's where I'm going. It'd be close enough to walk to (in an hour).

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Don't feel bad. These things happen.

I was feeling guilty about even contemplating not going back East to my sister's for Christmas, until she decided "Wouldn't it be fun to have Christmas in VT rather than Boston?" Thereby making it:
1) more complicated to get to, and 2) more expensive (since Montreal is the closest airport)

So I stopped feeling guilty and just blatently asked my BiL to give me miles if they wanted me to come. How much awesomer is my BiL than my sister? He offered to pick me up and drop me off in Montreal so I wouldn't have to rent a car.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Lady friend. I love it, it's so 70s.

Also? Who knew that I had it good with it only being 80 degrees in my house (no we don't have air conditioning). Still I am tempted to price out A/C window boxes.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Someone tell me it will be okay, please?

quester, if you were skipping a family wedding to do lines of coke off the ass of the hooker you just picked up in Central America, *that* might be a lame reason to miss a family wedding.

But a triple-whammy of respiratory infection, fibromyalgia flare-up, and CFS flare-up is, in fact, a good enough reason to miss whatever you need to. IMO.

Steph says it so much better than I ever could, so I'll just point up.
