No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

As I just mentioned in Natter, it is PROM DAY!!!!! So, we just got home from doing hair and 2 of her friends came over here to get ready. Girl-a-poluza in the house!

As for the hectic, yes. Set the date with the movers, will get paperwork to sign for them on Monday. They should be picking our stuff up on Friday, the 27th, so the kids and I will be camping in the house until Monday (possibly Tuesday) before CJ and I hop a plane to Denver.

More terrifying is the house hunting trip that starts on Wednesday.

I'm getting the pig!

Wow. Prom night, eh? Hoo boy. I do not envy you right now. I am excited to see pics of K-bug and E, though. Awwwww.

Whatever damage I might have done to myself by lifting a toddler today, I should be healed by Weds. And I got your email, which I'll answer soonish. Driving shouldn't be a problem by then. Just as long as I'm off the painkillers.

Nicole. If you give her grapes, cut them in quarters, so she doesn't choke. I'm sorry the toddler is wearing you out.

LIAR! Cranky two year old crying jag since about 15 minutes after mommy and daddy left.

S and I once babysat for Emeline one night, so Joe and Aims could go out to a dress party.

From the moment she finally figured out that they were leaving, just a couple of minutes before they actually left, until she finally went to sleep several hours later, she was bawling and sobbing and basically inconsolable.

We did our best to make her feel better, and she'd let us console her, but she just wasn't going to stop crying.

At one point, she'd almost fallen asleep and stopped crying, with her head on S's shoulder. Then, before she actually fell asleep, she leaned back and looked at S, and as soon as she saw that S was not actually Aims, she shouted "NOT MOMMA!" and went back to sobbing, until she finally did actually fall asleep about an hour later.

That was a tough, tough night.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The one time I babysat for the younger nephew was when his parents had an out of state wedding. So I was in a hotel room with him and the then 11 year old. There was nothing on the tv to entertain the 11 year old, so he wanted me to entertain him. Meanwhile, the younger nephew screamed until his parents returned. Even after he fell asleep, he would wake up every couple of seconds screaming. So I was playing Uno with one hand with the older nephew and holding the younger one in my other arm while he cried. It was exhausting and gave me such a respect for parents.

YAY!

Prom dresses are on 2 of the 3 girls. Eeeep, they look so grown.

IOwondersofnatureN, I've been watching the following scene for a couple of weeks:

There is a jacaranda outside our house. It budded its beautiful violet flowers a few weeks ago, and is now dumping tons of the flowers onto the sidewalk.

The bees around our neighborhood are lazy. No flying up to the top of the jacaranda to collect pollen for them. Instead, they glide lazily along about an inch off the ground, come in for a landing on a discarded flower bud to walk along the surface for a moment before taking off again.

It looks like a touch-and-go aircraft carrier landing.

Oh Seanie. And sj, too. Those experiences sound horrifying! Yeesh.

I do have a ton of respect for parents. They likely possess about eight gabillion pounds more of patience than I'll ever have. Thank goodness Mike feels the same way I do about not wanting to have kids.
