'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 41: Thrown together to stand against the forces of darkness

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I guess the board reset also reset my profile to an earlier version.

For the record, the board doesn't keep versions of anything, so it can't reset like that. I can't think of any scenario in which the software could do that to just one person.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

my iPhone's name is iAnto.

AHAHAHAHA!

That's funny.

Of course, mine is Sophia (Bush), so that it can have bitchy back and forths with Lee's Chad (Michael Murray).

Aww. J's funny! (I work with a guy by that name! Who is a singer! But is NOT that particular one. Though he, like all right-thinking humans, appreciates the one who shares his name.)

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Oooh! iPhone/Mac hard drive naming schemes:

My Macbook's hard drive is named Albert. My Time Machine external hard drive is named Isaac. My Windows partition on the Macbook is named Werner (not Von Braun, hint hint). The next two names I have reserved for hard drives (and I suspect I will be using them sooner rather than later) are Stephen and Nils.

My iPhone is named Ziggy right now, but I may have to rename it in order to make it fit with the rest of the naming scheme. Maybe Richard.

Anybody want to take a stab at what my naming scheme is (it's probably obvious, especially after the hint)?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Sadly, my Mac is stuck with the name [dept]-staff-amyh. But the media server is Mary Sue.

I grokked Sean's naming scheme physics ftw! but I have no suggestions for the iPhone.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

My video iPod is Hal and my iPod Touch is Dora. Everything else on the network is a vampire - our old PCs were Spike and Dru, the Tivo is Darla, the Airport Express is The Annointed One, the iMac is Angelus and my G5 is Willow. (We ran out of actual major-character vampires and had to go AU. When I get my MacBook Pro it will probably be Xander.)

My office Mac has a main hard drive called Picard and a striped array called Borg.

the hardest to learn / was the least complicated

I grokked Sean's naming scheme

Me, too, although I was going to say: NERDS!!! (Having said that, my iBook's hard drive is named Titans Tower and my external hard drive is the Batcave, so I have no real room to mock.)

My work computer is Java Steph (my previous work computer was Java Joe, so I was just continuing the theme).

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Anybody ever named their garage door opener Hal? seems appropriate ....

At work, our tech people named our servers Thing 1 and Thing 2, which makes me smile.

Because books.

I named my tiny, ancient Rio MP3 player "Edith" because she's so old-fashioned.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

That's funny.

I must admit that Dana suggested the spelling. I was calling it Ianto. And she said "shouldn't that be iAnto?" but, it's a perfect name because it does almost everything for me. The only thing it doesn't do is bring coffee :(

My (now departed) desktop was named Giles, and my laptop's name is Ripper. My roomba is named Scooter. The new tivo doesn't have a name yet.

I worked at a company where the server was named Hall of Justice and all of the computers were superheros. I wanted Wonder Woman, but I got Flash. I was talking to the computer guy and he told me that the naming scheme was almost greek gods (with the server being Olympus, of course).
