Sean - I've never played Republic of Rome, but if it's possible to play without a copy, I'm always game for a new boardgame.

I think it's playable without a copy. It's a *little* more detailed than BSG, but not too much. And there's a lot of social interaction.

(Mafia/Werewolf isn't quite as compelling to me - too many years in the Cam has kinda spoiled that whole set of genres...)

I do not think this game is the game you think it is. Mafia/Werewolf

I realize I'm short on cash and long on visa, and need to stop buying things for awhile.

I'm not entirely certain Republic of Rome is even in print anymore, so you won't have to worry too much about that.

But but but ... someday I want us to set up an invite-only vampire LARP! Because I kind of miss LARPing. I just don't miss most of the idiots in the Cam.

Sean - you're right, I hadn't realized this was THAT game.

Jilli - I'm afraid there are about 2 people in the world I'd larp with, and you're one of them.

I'm flattered (I really am!), but dammit. There goes that idle plan.

If you can find a small crew of rational gamers, I'll think about reversing my stance. I'm just not very hopeful.

See, the rational gamers I know are in DIFFERENT STATES. Because hey, getting MM and Sean into a vampire LARP with us would be FUN.

But the question is, would we resurrect Skarrin and Timory, or would we go nutty and create new characters?
