You know Pete, I am liking this game in much the same way I like the Serenity RPG - it's rather adroitly crafted to recreate the feel of the TV show in question.
Gaming 1: You are likely to be eaten by a grue
A thread for the discussion of games: board, LARP, MMORPG, video, tabletop RPG, game theory etc. etc. and all attendant news, developments and ancillary subjects thereof, as well as coordinating/scheduling games either online or IRL. All are welcome to chime in, talk about their favorite games or learn about gaming of any sort.
PLEASE TO WHITEFONT SPOILERS for video games, RPG modules or anything for which foreknowledge of events might lessen one's enjoyment of whatever gaming experience.
Pete, I own a copy - if we can get 3 or 4 more people, and a couple of hours, I'll bring it over some Saturday and we can toaster-smash to our little hearts' content.
I bought my copy *solely* based on the amusement I found reading *this* session. And I love eeeeet.
ETA: That being said:
BSG
Jump! Jump! Jump!
or
Stay! Stay! Stay!
Either way: you die.
BSG
You currently have 5 Population left. (This is included in the last End-of-turn summary, along with the numbers and positions of ships.) Jumping now would risk 3 Population. There are three civilian ships on the board, Boomer has previously examined two of them (though she can't share this knowledge).
And Dr Baltar played a G2 to XO Boomer.
BSG
I have heard on Earth, there is a song. Starbuck brought a mix tape with the song on it. It says something along the lines of "might as well JUMP! Go ahead and JUMP!". How can you resist Rock n Roll.
Game Master. Move me to the FTL. Action me to Jump. It's not like I can launch vipers, or shoot at them with Galactica guns.
BSG
You could launch vipers, you just can't launch yourself in a viper. However, I'm happy to get that fleet jumping. The population risk is a die roll; we will pause for the human crew to pass or play on a Strategic Planning interrupt.
BSG
No interrupts from Baltar.
BSG
Crap. I was hoping your delusional intuition would give you an SP.
BSG
Everyone passes on interrupts. Time for the die roll.
Result: 6. So close, and yet so dead. You lose 3 Population.
The remnants limp closer to Kobol. Admiral Valerii, I'm sending you two destinations. When you're ready, please post your choice.
BSG
The Admiral has chosen! Your new destination is Remote Planet. Lose 1 Fuel and 1 raptor. The human Fleet is now one jump away from victory.
That concludes Dr Baltar's turn, since he's still in stir. Apollo 13, your turn now begins. Please let me know what you would like for your card draw, and your move and action.
